On Monday, July 29, some Nigerians threw their weight behind the President Bola Tinubu-led government with the #SayNoToProtest rally.

The #SayNoToProtest rally came as a counter protest against the planned #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest which is scheduled to hold from August 1 – 10.

The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, which has been gaining momentum on social media, is set to occur across all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Meanwhile, videos and photos of the #SayNoToProtest rally held in some states have littered the internet.

These Nigerians are calling on those planning to stage a protest against the Tinubu administration to reconsider their stance.

A trending video on social media shows youths in Lagos State staging a counter-protest against the August 1 nationwide demonstration.

The youths, gathered from various locations, met on Lagos Island to show their support for the administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

They called on their peers to “avoid violent protests.”

Referring to the 2020 #EndSARS protest, which resulted in property damage and loss of life in Lagos, the youth expressed their determination to prevent a
repeat of such events.

However, many Nigerians are determined.

They are so determined to give the Tinubu government a piece of their minds.

These people say there is no going back on the planned protest.

Perhaps some of these people would have given peace a second thought, but the latest fuel scarcity in the country has fuelled their morals, they are now more convinced than ever that the country is not getting better anytime soon.

This scarcity has seen to a huge increase in the price of petrol, not to mention the long queues that have surfaced in different parts of the country.

Indeed, no one knows tomorrow, but many Nigerians are sure of one thing, the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest will definitely hold.
