The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has denied its involvement in the destruction of the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Over the past few weeks, seven INEC facilities across five states have been destroyed and vandalized and security agencies claim it might have been done by IPOB.

The group however denies having anything to do with the attacks, claiming they have no interest in the 2023 general elections.
IPOB stated this in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Monday.
The group claims its security outfit, Eastern Security Network (ESN) does not also have anything to do with the attacks.
The statement partly reads, “Eastern Security Network (ESN) operative never attacked the INEC office because we are not interested in this Nigeria’s forthcoming election in 2023. Anyone or group claiming IPOB or ESN for any attack on INEC facilities is under the influence of some powerful drugs.
“IPOB will not spare anybody using our name to disrupt election, and nobody should link us with those who are destroying election materials.”
IPOB also challenged security agencies to reveal the information of those behind the attacks, claiming the agencies are working with the masterminds of the attacks to frame IPOB.
