After battling with an undisclosed ailment and having his leg amputated, Nollywood actor Mr. Ibu has passed away. He died of cardiac arrest.
The famous actor, whose real name is John Okafor, was 62 years old. Multiple reports say he passed away at Evercare Hospital.
In October 2023, he went openly to seek financial support to treat his condition. There were plans to carry him abroad for more medical care, but his doctors decided he was not strong enough to travel.
In November 2023, he underwent an amputation of his leg as part of his treatment.
He leaves behind his wife and children. He was sixty-two years old.
The veteran actor was widely known for his excellent portrayal of comedic roles in movies.
