Indeed, Nigerians are often rumoured to take stands based on tribe, political party, and religion, however, all these factors do not count when Nigerians want to speak up against oppression or for the truth.

#VeryDarkMan is trending because Nigerians have refused to be silent.

They have decided to speak in one voice against what they describe as oppression on the common man.

VeryDarkMan was recently released from police custody following an earlier arrest.

However, on Monday, June 10, 2024, It was reported that a Federal High Court in Abuja had granted bail to the social media influencer.

The blogger was released from police custody after meeting his bail conditions.

Many had thought that this last arrest would push VDM into his shell as it has to other influencers and advocates before him.

But guess what?

VeryDarkMan, according to his fans, only came out stronger and renewed.

Well, that ‘coming out stronger and renewed’ has once again landed VDM in police custody just weeks after his release.

Ashmusy In The Mud

While Nigerians were busy settling the clash between VeryDarkMan and popular business mogul, Obi Cubana, the social media influencer set on another adventure.

He exposed an alleged fraud by his colleague, Ahsmusy.

According to him, Ashmusy received one million naira from a small businessman for advertising services but failed to deliver.

He backed his claim with the payment receipt.

Barely hours into this crusade for justice, Ashmusy was said to have refunded the one million naira which she had initially refused to refund.

That day, fans of VDM once again found a reason to hail him, with many referring to him as a hero.

Others wasted no time in tagging him; the voice of the voiceless.

As the celebration continued on social media, news of VeryDarkMan’s arrest started springing up.

VDM Second Arrest

One cannot begin to imagine the shock on the faces of his fans as they tried to fathom why.

“Our client, @thatverydarkman, has just been arrested by the police under the orders of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad,” those were the words of his lawyer, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, as he brought news of his arrest to the public.
