BET has announced that Usher will be awarded the BET Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards 2024.
This award is reserved for people who have really made a mark in the entertainment world.
Usher joins a list of great artistes like Whitney Houston, Prince, Queen Latifah, Anita Baker, Mary J. Blige, Samuel Jackson, among others who have won this award before.
BET executive, Connie Orlando, said the connection between BET and USHER goes back many years.
He said, “The relationship between BET and USHER spans decades, from his multiple appearances on 106 & Park, to most recently winning the Entertainer of the Year trophy at the 55th NAACP Image Awards, BET EVP, Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy.”
“From his chart-topping hits, electrifying performances, and unforgettable vocals to his signature moves and sound.”
In addition to the honor, Usher was nominated in four categories at this year’s BET Awards.
He’s vying for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, which also includes Drake, Chris Brown, Brent Faiyaz, Bryson Tiller, and Burna Boy.
