Uefa has concluded the tender process for the sale of its club competition rights by signing deals with Relevent Sports Group and Team Marketing.
In an agreement that includes the lucrative Champions League, Relevent Sports Group has reportedly secured Uefa’s club competition US media rights sales contract for the 2024 to 2027 cycle, ending Team’s 25-year exclusive sales brief.
Relevent said it could guarantee Uefa $250 million for the rights in the US, which is $100 million more than what the governing body is currently guaranteed from its deals in that territory.
Team Marketing has also retained a significant portion of Uefa’s club competitions media rights, with its deal covering the rest of the world, plus global marketing sales.
Uefa’s club competition rights are projected to deliver more than $4 billion annually for the 2024 to 2027 cycle, a significant increase on the $3.1 billion that the European soccer body brought in last year from its current deals.
Relevent and Team will be selling rights to a revamped competition, with Uefa set to introduce changes to the Champions League format.
