Tinubu Will Not Attend Arise TV Town Hall Meeting — APC

The All Progressive Congress (APC) campaign council has announced that its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, will not attend the presidential town hall meeting organized by Arise Television.

This was stated by the Director of Media and Publicity of the APC campaign council, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday.

Tinubu alongside other presidential candidates of other parties was listed to be present at the third edition of the meeting.

The campaign council claims their candidate was not informed of the meeting, beforehand and is already scheduled for events until the elections in February 2023.

The statement from the campaign council reads in part, “We are surprised that the TV station misted our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a participant, when there was no prior consultation with home and his aides and no consent of the candidate obtained for the advertisement.

“We deem this as professionally wrong and reckless. No media organization should arrogate to itself the right to railroad any candidate to fit into its own agenda.

“As we said in an earlier statement, the busy and hectic campaign schedules of Asiwaju Tinubu will not permit him to honor all invitations from different radio and TV stations for debate and or Town Hall meetings hence our decision for him not to start with one media organisation and later ignore the others.”
