Well-wishers have been pouring in, in their numbers to the residence of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in Ondo State, to console the family.

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has also paid the widow of the late governor a condolence visit.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has condoled with the widow of the late Ondo State Governor Mrs Betty Akeredolu.

Tinubu visited the Ibadan residence of the Akeredolus and noted that the late governor fought gallantly to stay alive.

Unfortunately, we lost him to the cold hands of death, as every human existence is subject to the will of God.

The first lady noted that the nation had lost one of its great men.

“He did his best. God will be there for you when God shows up for you, that is what matters,” she said.

She admonished the widow and the family to take solace in God and trust in him alone at this trying time.

She prayed that God continue to uphold the family.

The brother to the late governor, Professor Oluwole Akeredolu, said the exit of the governor was a painful one at this time.

Still, the family is consoled by the fact that he has gone to rest.
