The Super Eagles camp opens today in Uyo as players arrive for AFCON qualifiers. Preparations begin for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with players trickling in ahead of Nigeria’s crucial matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Early arrivals include William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina, Olisa Ndah, Semi Ajayi, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
Others expected to join the squad are Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukweuze, Stanley Nwabali, Victor Osimhen, Amas Obasogie, Maduka Okoye, Raphael Onyedika, and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Super Eagles will be led by Interim coach Augustine Eguavoen, who was hastily appointed after German coach Bruno Labbadia declined the coaching offer.
Nigeria faces Benin Republic on September 7 in Uyo and Rwanda three days later in Kigali. The 2025 AFCON takes place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
