Singer Spyro has accused music executive and associate of Davido, Ubi Franklin, of scamming him.
According to Spyro, Ubi Franklin invoked Davido’s name to persuade him to perform at an event in Ghana promising that Davido would handle the payment of $5,000.
However, Spyro alleged that when he raised concerns about the payment arrangement, Ubi Franklin allegedly rushed him onto the stage, leaving him no choice but to perform.
After the event, Ubi Franklin supposedly admitted that Davido had no knowledge of the arrangement and urged Spyro not to inform him.
Ubi Franklin has since responded to the allegations, denying any wrongdoing and calling Spyro’s claims “lies.” In a post on social media, Ubi Franklin stated that he would not allow anyone to destroy his name and reputation.
He also questioned why Spyro would claim that he used Davido’s name to scam him, when Spyro has direct links to Davido.
Ubi Franklin further claimed that Spyro allegedly owes him N10.5 million from a car purchase, and demanded that Spyro pay him the outstanding balance before he pays him his $5,000.
Spyro has however denied having any conversation about paying Ubi Franklin for giving him a GAC car plug.
The controversy has sparked a heated debate online, with many fans and industry insiders weighing in on the issue.
Some have expressed support for Spyro, praising him for speaking out against alleged exploitation. Others have defended Ubi Franklin, questioning Spyro’s motives and accusing him of trying to tarnish Ubi’s reputation.
