Popular South African Afro-pop singer, Zahara, whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, has passed away at the age of 35.
Zahara, known for her award-winning music, died on Monday night, December 11, 2023, due to complications with her liver.
She had been in a Johannesburg hospital, and her family had previously confirmed her hospitalisation in November.

The singer, accompanied by her guitar, made a remarkable and lasting impact on South African music.
Zahara, who released five albums during her career, was recognised on the BBC’s 100 Women list in 2022 and received various awards for her contributions to the music industry.
