She described the incident as “maddening,” expressing her heartbreak over the senseless loss of innocent lives.

All those babies just gone like that because of people’s negligence. The worst thing about Nigeria is the lack of value for life. The things people die for are so maddening,” she stated.

Rescue operations are ongoing as students and teachers are being evacuated to various hospitals within Jos.

The scale of the disaster has overwhelmed local healthcare facilities.

Also, emergency responders are working tirelessly to provide aid and comfort to the victims and their families.

The government has labeled the incident an avoidable tragedy.

Furthermore, it points to the school’s weak structural integrity and its hazardous location near a riverbank.

Officials have pledged to investigate the causes of the collapse and hold accountable those responsible for ensuring the safety of school buildings.

In the wake of the tragedy, there have been widespread calls for improved infrastructure and stricter safety regulations in schools across Nigeria.

Many, like Simi, are demanding immediate action to prevent such disasters from happening again.
