Senator Demands Release Of Arrested Barber

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Abba Moro, has called for the release of Elijah Odeh, a barber from his constituency who was arrested in Kano over hairstyles he gave customers.

In a statement issued by his media aide in Abuja on Sunday, Moro said the barber was arrested for barbing hairstyles that allegedly contravened Islamic laws.

The indigine of Adum East in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State was arrested days back by Muslims.

Moro described his arrest as unconstitutional and unacceptable.

The Senator said, “None of my constituents will suffer unjustly anywhere, as long as I remain their Senator.

“I will also follow up on the case, with all the seriousness it deserves, until justice is served on Elijah, who I believe, has done nothing wrong by being creative and innovative.”
