To Governor Nyesom Wike, politics is a game of give and take. He does not mix sentiments with the business of politics.

It was because of this that Wike refused to support his own party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the just concluded presidential election.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had refuse to meet his demands and Wike made sure they paid dearly for it.

To Wike, he does not pay good with evil, on the other hand, he will not hesitate to pay evil with evil.

Now, the Rivers State governor has announced his support for the ambition of Senator Godswill Akpabio for the office of the Senate President.

Payback Time

Speaking via a statement yesterday from Akpabio media office, Wike announced that it was time to pay the senator back for his good will towards him.

He recounts how Akpabio also supported him when he was contesting for the governorship seat.

“this is the time for me to support him because he supported me when I wanted to be the governor of River State”

Wike Speaks On Akpabio’s Candidacy

Wike noted that he sees nothing wrong in the ruling party picking a candidate the president-elect, Bola Tinubu can work with.

The governor said this when he received members of the Stability Group; a group of Senators-elect, rooting for the emergence of Akpabio.

The group was led by its Director General, Senator Ali Ndume, APC, Borno South.

“if truly we want this country to move forward from where we are today, I see nothing wrong in the ruling party picking who it thinks can work with the President-elect as the Senate President of the 10th Assembly.

“Don’t be worried or disturbed with the contending forces against your aspiration, it is normal in politics.

Power is not given on a platter, you fight for it.
