Nigerians home and abroad are praying and hoping nothing bad happens to Nwabali during this competition.
Super Eagles Goalie Problem
Before now, the name Stanley Nwabali was strange to many football loving Nigerians.
The goalkeeper problem in the Super Eagles of Nigeria, was the reason Francis Uzoho was invited into the team.
Unfortunately, his lackluster and wobbly performance over time added more challenge than solution to the growth.
He will now continue to regret losing his number one spot to Nwabali.
This lingering situation became a cause for concern to most Nigerians who just wanted to watch Nigeria play good football.
Nobody expected or believed that there was a better option for Nigeria, in the Chippa United FC short stopper.
Nwabali the motivation behind the boys on the pitch has been a rock solid, dependable keeper for the super eagles.
Information has it that he only needs one more clean sheet to beat the records of Best Ogedengbe and Vincent Enyeama.
Uzoho Has Lost A Golden Opportunity
Uzoho, had the opportunity of manning the sticks for Nigeria for a very long time, but he gave it away.
Except an injury condemns Nwabali from ever playing football, Uzoho may never be the super eagles first choice goalkeeper ever again.
Nwabali has shown that he is reliable and can be trusted, the same cannot be said of Uzoho with his clumsy mistakes that have cost Nigeria some games.
The 27-year-old also showed in the last match against South Africa that he is not just good in the game but that he can save penalty kicks.
He succeeded in stopping two spot kicks out of four played by the South Africans, after making beautiful saves during the game.

Thanks To Mourinho
However, kudos must be given Jose Mourinho for advising Nigeria to go for Jose Peseiro.
And Peseiro must also be given some kudos for a good job this far.
Nwabali’s brilliance between the sticks denied four nations from finding the back of the net against Nigeria.
We pray he is once again able to repeat such feat against Ivory Coast in the final.
