Sad: ‘A Simple Thing As Election, People Were Maimed’ – Peter Obi

Have you seen what Peter Obi has to say about Nigeria’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections?

Indeed, the tussle to hold political position in Nigeria appears to be needing spiritual intervention from Nigerians, a people seen as the most religious in the whole world.

Unfortunately, the nation cannot hold a grip on giving impeccable delivery to ‘a simple thing’ as election.

For Peter Obi, this is a disheartening situation.

Nigerians, though with tattered hopes, approached polling units on Saturday to cast their votes in the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

They had come, hopping that the electoral body and security agencies must have put themselves together and hold an election they can associate themselves with.

But that little hope some came to polls with was further shattered.

It is an unfortunate situation that makes Peter Obi leave a prayer for his dear nation.

A Simple Thing As An Election

After the election, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, gathered his follows together on Twitter and shared his heart-felt sympathy.

He wrote: “With sadness, my heart goes deeply to the Nigerians who lost their lives and those who were maimed for participating in such a simple thing as an election.

“My prayers and wishes for a quick recovery of the injured.

“My sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

“May God Almighty grant them eternal rest, and grant their families the fortitude to bear their sad irreplaceable loss”.

Also, on the situation Nigeria has found itself in the hands of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Peter Obi prayed “earnestly that God Almighty will save and help Nigeria out of this precarious situation”.

Earlier, Peter Obi’s party concluded that the election was a complete sham.

They want INEC to cancel elections in places where voters could not vote as a result of violence.
