The tension following the just concluded local government elections in Rivers state is getting more heated.
According to videos seek online, individuals suspected to be have set the newly built council secretariat at Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of River State ablaze.
The arson took place hours after the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the immediate withdrawal of police officers at the 23 local government secretariats in the state.
A video shared online showed a section of the secretariat’s administrative building on fire.

Police authorities have not commented on the incident and the extent of damage is still unclear.
