Award-winning Afrobeats superstar Rema has once again displayed his musical prowess with a captivating performance of his hit song ‘Calm Down’ at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The Nigerian star delivered his hit song “Calm Down” with so much style and swag in the presence of world music stars who gathered for the highest profile music awards ceremony in the United Kingdom.
Assisted by a stellar band, Rema showcased the single that holds the record for the highest-charting African song on the UK Singles Chart.
Rema becomes the second Nigerian artiste to grace the BRIT Awards stage, following Burna Boy’s memorable performance in 2018.
While both Burna Boy and Asake were nominated in the star-studded ‘International Artist of the Year’ category, Rema’s track “Calm Down” earned a nomination for the prestigious International Song of the Year.
The nominees included esteemed artists like Libianaca, Tyla, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and SZA.
However, REMA’s ‘Calm Down’ for the International Song of the Year lost to Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers,’ and Burna Boy and Asake lost the Best International Artist category to American R&B superstar SZA.
