He says Tinubu travelled out of the country on Tuesday night to rest and participate in lesser hajj.

Tinubu’s Break

Some earlier reports had accused Tinubu of travelling to Europe on Tuesday for medical treatment.

However, Tinubu’s media aide said the former Lagos State Governor only took a break after a very hectic campaign and election season.

He says Tinubu left Nigeria on Tuesday to rest in Paris and London.

He is preparing to go to Saudi Arabia for Umrah (Lesser Hajj).

During the foreign trip, the President-elect would also plan his transition programme, the aide added.

The Statement

“After a very exhaustive campaign and election season, President-elect, Asíwájú Bola Tinubu, has travelled abroad to rest and plan his transition programme ahead of May 29, 2023 inauguration.

“The President-elect left the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja for Europe on Tuesday night.
