Alexia Putellas continues to cement her status as the Queen of Barcelona, with the Blaugrana icon passing Luis Suarez on the club’s goal-scoring list.
Catalan native Putellas has been with Barca since 2012, with the history books being rewritten over the course of 12 memorable years.
The 30-year-old midfielder is a two-time winner of the Ballon d’Or Feminin and captured a World Cup crown with Spain in 2023.
At club level, with unfortunate injury sagas being left in the past, Putellas has been a regular source of end product from her playmaking post.
She opened her goal account on debut and became a centurion in that department when netting against Madrid CFF in April 2019.
Putellas passed international team-mate Jenni Hermoso to become the all-time leading scorer for Barcelona’s women’s team when finding the target against Atletico Madrid last season – as she reached 182 goals and counting.
Putellas netted in a Clasico clash with Real Madrid last time out, taking her overall tally to 199.
That effort has pulled her clear of legendary Uruguayan striker Suarez (198) and into third place on Barcelona’s all-time chart.

Reaching a double-century is next in Putellas’ sights, before going on to chase down Cesar Rodriguez’s haul of 232 goals for Barca.
She will fancy her chances of claiming second spot on a notable list but Barcelona admit that getting anywhere near Lionel Messi’s haul of 672 goals will be impossible – “not just for her, but anyone!”.
