On Monday, June 12, President Bola Tinubu expressed admiration for the late Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO) on his significant role in promoting democracy.
During his address to Nigerians on the occasion of the 2023 Democracy Day, President Tinubu paid tribute to MKO Abiola’s historical contributions.
Speaking in a live broadcast on NTA, he acknowledged that it had been 30 years since Nigerians exercised their fundamental right to vote for a president who would guide the country’s transition from military rule to a government that truly represents its citizens.
However, that dream was truncated with an annulment of that election result.
