Portable is one music artist who is known for his street sense.
This is evident in the way he talks, acts, and relates to people around him.
As a result, it didn’t come as a shock to many when a viral video of the singer jumping over a gate to evade arrest hit the internet.
Officers of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested Nigerian singer Habeebat Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.
The musician was arrested on May 14 following a petition from a car dealer.
Portable allegedly purchased a G-Wagon worth ₦27 million from the car dealer.
He made a down payment of ₦14 million and took the vehicle away with the promise to pay the balance.
However, it was gathered that the car dealer waited for the balance payment to no avail.
Then, the dealer reached out to Portable, who claimed he couldn’t balance the payment as the car he purchased had faults.
In reaction to this, the dealer asked the singer to return the car or pay the balance, but Portable allegedly refused.
Following a petition from the dealer, the police moved in and arrested the singer.
The singer jumped the gate in an attempt to stop his arrest.
He is currently in custody at the state police headquarters and might spend the night there, as the police have yet to receive any surety for his bail.

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of the singer.
