The latest trend of Police officers covering their eyes with dark glasses has come to an end, all thanks to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.
While the motive of this trend remains unclear, Egbetokun says enough is enough.
The police boss has instructed officers to cease wearing dark glasses while in uniform.
This directive, effective immediately, was communicated through a wireless message dated Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and sent to all zonal and state commands within the police force.
However, the wireless message, identified as CB:4001/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL.121/104, surfaced on the internet on Thursday.
The IGP warned that any breach of this directive will result in strict penalties.
