Police in Brussels, the Belgian capital city, has arrested 100 fans amid clashes over the end of Morocco’s 2022 World Cup run.
The Morocco team had lost in a 2-0 defeat against France in the Semi-Finals of the World Cup.
The fans were accused of disturbing public order, damaging two police vehicles, and possession of prohibited fireworks.
According to the report by the News Agency Belga, some of the roads in the city center were cordoned off ahead of the match.
Images shared from Wednesday night when the football match was played, showed piles of burning rubbish and a large police contingent deployed on the streets of Brussels.

Photos published by the news agency also showed residents who had started to clean up the streets after the riot, on Wednesday.
Morocco became the first team from Africa to reach the semi-finals in a World Cup after a winning against Spain and Portugal in the last of 16 and the quarter-finals, respectively.
With Morroco’s win, the spot for African teams in the next world cup is set to be increased from 9 slots to 11 slots.
