Producer Pharrell Williams has openly criticised American celebrities for making political endorsements ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Williams explained that he preferred to remain apolitical. He finds it frustrating when fellow celebrities publicly promote candidates.
“I don’t engage in politics. Honestly, I get irritated when I see celebrities trying to tell people who they should vote for,” Williams remarked.
He added that many of these endorsements feel unnecessary, as the celebrities’ opinions were not requested by the public.
“There are celebrities whose opinions I respect, but not all of them. I’m one of those people who think, ‘Why are you talking? No one asked for your input,'” Williams continued.
Several prominent celebrities, including Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish, have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the election.
In contrast, former President Donald Trump has received endorsements from figures such as billionaire Elon Musk and Blac Chyna.

Williams’ remarks come amid a larger debate about whether public figures should use their influence to shape political opinions.
Also, critics are arguing that celebrity endorsements may pressure voters or distract from the actual issues.
