Former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Biodun Oyebanji has been sworn in as the governor of Ekiti state.
On Sunday, October 16, 2022, Oyebanji was sworn in by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye.
Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, was declared the winner of the Ekiti governorship election with 187,057 votes, defeating his two closest challengers, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who received 82,211 votes, and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 67,457 votes.

He succeeded Governor Kayode Fayemi, who also served as chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
