The new Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, wants to get back the property of the government in the hands of the persons who served in the government before him.
He has set up a panel that will recover any stolen government property.
The Judicial Panel of Inquiry would be chaired by Justice Florence Ikwuoma Duruoha-Igwe of the State High Court Umuahia.
The announcement of the panel was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof Kenneth Kalu.
According to the SSG, the panel also includes Professor Ogwo Ekeoma Ogwo, Mr. Ugochukwu Okoroafor, Reverend Fr. Alex Okonkwo and Professor Ursula Ngozi Akanwa.
The statement did not go into depth on the government panel’s responsibilities.
The Abia State Government recently asked former appointees and other former administration employees who were still in possession of government property to return them to the office of the SSG or face the consequences.
