“Oppenheimer” Wins Big At 96th Oscars Awards

The 96th annual Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 10, 2024, saw Universal’s “Oppenheimer” winning seven Oscars.

Christopher Nolan directed this biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man behind the atomic bomb. The film earned awards for best actor, best supporting actor, best film editing, best cinematography, best picture, best score, and best director.

Robert Downey Jr. won best supporting actor for his role as Lewis Strauss in “Oppenheimer,” while his co-star Cillian Murphy won best actor.

Disney and Searchlight’s “Poor Things” also had a good night, taking home four awards, including best actress, best makeup and hairstyling, best production design, and best costume design.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph won best supporting actress for “The Holdovers.” The Oscar for best original song went to Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell for “What Was I Made For?” from “Barbie.” Jimmy Kimmel hosted this year’s Oscar awards.
