The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

However, the reason for the arraignment of Happie Boys remains unknown for now.

They were allegedly remanded at an underground prison by authorities in Cyprus.

Earlier, they had called out a clergyman, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, who sent them on scholarship to Cyprus after they were sacked by a fast-food restaurant for dancing on duty.

The Happie boys, led by Matthew Kelechi, made fun of the renowned priest, alleging that he abandoned them in Cyprus.

They subsequently rejected the clergyman’s offer to pay for their return flights to Nigeria so they could attend any university in Nigeria or the Benin Republic.

Also, the Happie boys made unpleasant remarks about the clergyman. They mocked his inability to continue their overseas scholarship in Europe for economic reasons.

He had also said the scarcity of foreign exchange had affected his ability to pay their fees.
