News Now: Masari Bans Traditional Activities In Katsina
The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari has banned the traditional Tashe activities conducted during the month of Ramadan.
In a statement by the Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Home Affairs, Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirikathe, the ban which is coming barely 15 days after the commencement of the Muslim fasting follows some security reports that warrant it. The state government also directed security operators in the state to arrest anybody found violating the directives. The commissioner drew the attention of the General Public mostly parents on the need to control and guard their children not to undertake the Tashe activities across the State.
