In the span of just three months, Netflix has raised its subscription prices in Nigeria for the second time.
The American streaming platform has increased its subscription fees by at least 40%.
Starting in October 2023, Netflix began adjusting the rates for its Basic and Premium plans in several major markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
In April, Netflix announced that the price of its Premium Plan in Nigeria would rise from ₦4,400 to ₦5,000.
Also, the Standard Plan would increase from ₦3,600 to ₦4,000, with the Basic Plan remaining at ₦2,900.
Netflix explained that these adjustments were part of a global strategy to periodically revise subscription fees to enhance revenue and earnings growth.
The company aims to support the expansion of its content offerings and introduce new features.
This latest price hike marks the second adjustment in Nigeria within a three-month period.
