Morocco Makes History As First African Team In World Cup Semi-Finals

The Morocco national team has made history as the first African team to get into the semi-final stage of the World Cup.

This feat was achieved after their 1-0 win against Portugal in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Yourself En-Nesyri had brought the team to victory with a goal just a few minutes to the end of the first half.

The Morocco team manager, Walid Regragui speaking before the game had said the team went from just being supported by Moroccans to the whole of Africa.

“Before it was just the Moroccans who supported us, now it is the Africans and Arabs,” he said.

Portugal’s loss also put an end to the journey of Cristiano Ronaldo in what may be his last World Cup.

Pictures showed Ronaldo in an emotional state following the team’s loss.
