Some illegal structures attached to a 10-storey building where fire broke out on Sunday have been pulled down by the Lagos State Government.

As a results, the traders with shops and office space on the first floor of Mandilas building on Broad Street would by now be thinking of where to start from.

The Iyaloja of the Atunwase International Market Mandilas General, Alhaja Adeniji Rashidat listed the affected areas to include.

Over 450 shops, 30 offices, 2 hotels, and 5 restaurants.

According to her, the lives and livelihoods of about 6,700 traders have been affected by this incident.

The Lagos Area Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, made this known.

Farinloye said, all illegal structures attached to the 50-year-old Mandilas Building, have been pulled down by Lagos State.

He confirmed that the fire had been put out. But he was quick to add that the fire left an extensive damage on the building.

Also, surrounding stalls at Atunwase International Market were affected.
