Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Joshua Zirkzee as their first summer signing.
The 22-year-old joins the Red Devils from Bologna for a fee of around €42 million.
Zirkzee has committed to a long-term deal, signing a contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2029.
The young striker has already made a name for himself in Serie A, emerging as Bologna FC’s leading scorer last season and helping the team secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
Zirkzee’s impressive performances earned him the 2023/24 Serie A Under-23 Player of the Year award.
Despite missing out on Champions League football with Manchester United, Zirkzee is excited to further his career in England.
In a statement on the club’s website, Zirkzee expressed his enthusiasm for the future, saying, “Having discussed with the manager and the leaders of the club, I know how exciting the future is going to be here, and I cannot wait to play my part in achieving success for Manchester United.”
