If there is anything the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) needs now, it is unity among its members and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State knows this so well.
He has advised party members to embrace peace and set aside concerns that could cause split within the party as a result of infighting during the general elections.
He says the problem could divide the party.
The governor made these remarks on Saturday during a party retreat for elected officials in Bauchi.
During his speech, Makinde stressed that the process of repairing the party should begin immediately.

Furthermore, he advised his fellow governors to remain focused on uniting the party and, more importantly, be forward-thinking.
“I’d like to conclude by saying that governments come and go, but our country endures.
“And, as a responsible opposition party, we must act in the best interests of the country when necessary.
“If there is no Nigeria, there is no us,” Makinde explained.
