Leicester City have confirmed the appointment of Steve Cooper as their new boss ahead of their return to the Premier League.
After their relegation to the Championship, Leicester City turned a page as they appointed former Manchester City assistant manager Enzo Maresca to lead the Foxes’ charge as they aimed to return to the Premier League.
The Foxes did indeed return to the top flight in fantastic fashion.
However, in what seemed like a bombshell dropped on Leicester’s leadership, Maresca joined Chelsea at the start of this summer.
That search led them to Cooper and former Chelsea boss Graham Potter.
However, the club could not find an agreement with Potter and shifted their focus towards the former Nottingham Forest boss.
They have now announced the signing of the 44-year-old as they look to begin planning for the upcoming season as soon as possible.
Speaking to club media, Cooper said: “I am really excited and proud to be appointed Leicester City’s First Team Manager.
“This is a fantastic Club with a rich history and passionate supporters.
“I am excited to work with such a talented squad.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of achieving our shared ambitions in the Premier League.”
