That fateful Wednesday, Nigerians were busy enduring the daring hardship and hunger which has engulfed the country, when the NERC made the heart wrenching announcement.
The Big Announcement
The announcement detailed that electricity consumers under the Band A classification will now pay 225 Naira kilowatt per hour (KW/h) instead of the usual 66 Naira.
Now Nigerians have to deal with high food prices, high transport cost, and the newly introduced high electricity price.
Under the Band classification, customers in Band A enjoy 20-24 hours of electricity supply daily, subscribers in Band B enjoy 16 to 20 hours, while those in Band C enjoy 12 to 16 hours daily.
Also, Band D subscribers benefit from eight to 12 hours of electricity consumption daily, while Band E subscribers only enjoy four to eight hours.
Message For Lagos Subscribers
Sequel to this announcement, the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company has released the list of the areas within its coverage that are enjoying 20-24 hours of power supply.
Here is the list of Lagos State subscribers of the Band A tariff plan who are beneficiaries of the 20 to 24 hours of electricity.
