The adage “blood is thicker than water” proved true, as Nigerian filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, finally ended his long-standing feud with his younger brother, Aremu Afolayan.
The two brothers reconciled during the wake-keep ceremony for their mother in Oyo State on Friday, November 22, 2024.
Over the years, the Afolayan brothers had been at odds, with their rift gaining public attention in 2018.
At the time, Aremu openly criticised their late father, claiming in an interview that despite Ade Love’s fame, he lived in poverty.
Aremu’s comments stirred controversy, and Kunle publicly responded by calling his brother “stupid”.
This further strained their relationship.
However, their mother’s passing created an opportunity for healing.
Also, the wake-keep ceremony became a platform for the siblings to mend their fractured bond.
Speaking at the event, Kunle Afolayan reflected on their relationship.
Also, he noted the significant age difference between them and addressing some of the misunderstandings that may have contributed to their feud.

“One thing I want to tell all Aremu’s friends is that I am not his brother but his father. I trained him, and I’m 10 years older than him. But you, his female friends, push him. However, love conquers all,” Kunle said.
This highlighted the familial bond they share despite their disagreements.
