Veteran Nollywood actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, popularly known as Kanayo O. Kanayo, has offered advice to young Nigerians of Generation Z in a recent lighthearted video that has gained traction on social media.
In the clip, Kanayo expressed concern over certain character traits exhibited by Gen Zs, particularly in their interactions with older generations.
He urged young people to learn the art of diplomacy when communicating with older family members, especially when seeking support for projects.
Kanayo emphasised the importance of effectively presenting requests to elders.
He humorously illustrated his point by referencing a scenario where a young musician seeks sponsorship from an uncle, only to sing the catchy lines from Chella Boi’s Afrobeat and hip-hop track, “Nyash Na Nyash.”
“Do you think your uncle would sponsor such a song? Gen Z, you guys must ‘born again,'” the actor quipped, highlighting the need for a more respectful approach in their dealings with older relatives.
