The iHeartRadio Music Awards announced the first batch of performers for its awards show, including a special tribute to this year’s Icon Award recipient, Cher.
Performers like Justin Timberlake, Green Day, TLC, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Tate McRae are all lined up to perform at the event on April 1, 2024.
Cher, will not only be receiving the 2024 iHeartRadio Icon Award but will also be honoured with a musical tribute.
This award recognizes her incredible contributions to music and pop culture for over seven decades, according to a press release.
With a career spanning many decades, Cher has sold over 100 million records and remains the only artist to have a No. 1 single on a Billboard chart for seven consecutive decades.
Nominations
Taylor Swift leads the nominations this year with a total of nine. Following closely with eight nominations are performers Jelly Roll, SZA, and 21 Savage.
The top nominees are all vying for the Song of the Year award, including Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Miley Cyrus, Morgan Wallen, Rema, Selena Gomez, and 21 Savage’s collaborators on the song “Creepin’,” Metro Boomin and The Weeknd.
This year’s show has expanded to include five new categories: Pop Artist of the Year, Pop Song of the Year, K-pop Artist of the Year, K-pop Song of the Year, and Best New Artist (K-pop).
