Although details of the details were not given by the senator, Punch reported that a source revealed the derail occurred at the Kubwa station.

This is coming only a few days after a train plying the Warri-Itakpe route derailed and staff members of the railway station had to rescue passengers with cabs.

Along the same Abuja-Kaduna route was a train attacked by bandits last year, leaving some dead and others abducted.

This attack led to the suspension of train services along the route which had only resumed recently.
