The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has declared the woman that was crushed in a Toyota Camry car by a Kaduna-Abuja on Thursday morning, dead.

The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh said the female driver, whose details are not yet known, was confirmed dead on the spot by medical practitioners.

The accident occurred around Chikakore, a residential area located a few meters away from the Kubwa Train Station, Abuja.

“Upon receipt of the information, Crime scene investigators attached to the Byazin Divisional Police Headquarters drifted (sic) swiftly to the scene, took charge of the situation, where the victim was confirmed dead by (a) medical practitioner on ground.

“Investigation has commenced by the Railway division having jurisdiction over the track. Findings and safety tips already existing will be reiterated to ensure a non-repeat of incident shortly,” she said.

A video of the incident that started circulating on Thursday morning, showed that the train crashed into the driver’s side of the car while it was crossing the rail track.

The train had reportedly left the Rigasa station in Kaduna around 8:00 am and was heading towards Abuja.
