“Look, April 11th last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil, I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything,”

Foxx explained. “I’m in Atlanta, they told me my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor.”

The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,’” he continued, pointing to his head. “I won’t say it on camera but it was…”

At the time, Foxx’s health scare was described only as a “medical complication,” with his daughter Corrine assuring the public that he was “already on his way to recovery” thanks to “quick action and great care.”

Foxx’s hospitalisation occurred while he was filming the movie “Back in Action” in Atlanta, alongside co-stars Cameron Diaz, Glenn Close, and Kyle Chandler.

Directed by Seth Gordon, the action-comedy is set to premiere on Netflix in November.

Despite conflicting reports and rampant speculation about his condition, Corrine revealed the following month that her father had been “out of the hospital for weeks” and was “recuperating,” even mentioning that he had played pickleball the day before.

Foxx later opened up about his health scare, sharing that he experienced a near-death moment and initially struggled to walk afterwards.

“It feels good to be here. I cherish every single minute now.

It’s different,” he said while accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements last December.
