Fernandez has been called out for live streaming himself and his Argentina team-mates singing a song that questions the heritage of some of the French national players.

The 23-year-old has since apologised, suggesting he meant no harm and that he is sorry for his behaviour.

Now, Chelsea compatriot Jackson has posted online in support of the midfielder.

Jackson, who represents Senegal at international level, first posted a video of Fernandez interacting with a young black Chelsea fan, before following up with an image of himself, the recent Copa America winner and Marc Cucurella.

Chelsea have also released a statement saying they will investigate the incident, but it is still likely going to cause internal issues in West London.

Wesley Fofana publicly shamed Fernandez for his behaviour on social media and it is yet to be seen whether they can mend their relationship ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Chelsea’s pre-season tour starts in a matter of days but Fernandez is not due to join up with the squad for a while following his summer exploits with Argentina.

The Blues will likely be in contact with the 23-year-old to discuss the next steps following the storm he caused online.
