Actor Deyemi Okanlawon shared why he stopped acting because his wife, Damilola, felt uneasy.
Talking on Teju Babyface’s show, Deyemi mentioned leaving his office job and 10-year acting career.
He explained that his wife supported him when he began acting, but after some years, she felt uncomfortable.
Initially, they agreed he would act for one year, but more opportunities kept coming, leading to years of acting.
In 2019, at 44, he stopped acting. But in 2020, he returned after talking with his wife.
He said: “I remember talking with my wife. We married in January, and this was August. I told her what was happening, and I was scared. We discussed it, and I assured her that we had savings and investments to support us for one or two years.”
