Nigerian rapper, Reminisce, has opened up about the importance of setting boundaries in his relationships within the music industry.
He reveals that not everyone around him can be considered a friend.
During a recent interview with Naija FM, the rapper shared insights into how he handles fame and the lessons he has learned throughout his career.
One of the most crucial realisations, he explained, was understanding that in the entertainment industry, true friendships were rare.
Also, reflecting on his early experiences, Reminisce admitted that fame taught him hard truths about trust and loyalty in the music business.
“The first thing I learned is that nobody is my friend,” he confessed.
This lesson shaped the way he navigates his relationships with colleagues.
This makes him careful about who he allows into his inner circle.
Reminisce acknowledged that his firm stance on maintaining boundaries had sometimes created tension with others in the industry.
“That’s probably why many people don’t like me. If someone has worked with me and we’ve had issues, it’s likely because I made a decision and stood by it.
“I’ve learned that, at the end of the day, I’m the one who will suffer the consequences,” he explained.
The rapper also shared how his rise to fame was a slow process.

This life experience, he said, helped him see through the superficial nature of industry relationships.
“When it comes to humans, they can easily turn against you if they aren’t benefiting, especially financially,” he noted.
