Nigerian music star, Panshak Zamani, better known as Ice Prince, has shared a heartfelt account of his challenging journey as an orphan.
Also, he revealed how he overcame significant obstacles in his early life.
The “Aboki” crooner opened up about these struggles during a recent episode of the ‘Listen’ podcast.
Ice Prince recounted the profound impact of losing both parents at a young age.
Also, he revealed that his father passed away when he was just 11 years old, and a decade later, at the age of 21, he lost his mother.
As the only son in his family, he found himself bearing the weight of responsibility for his extended family.
Despite these hardships, Ice Prince highlighted his unwavering faith and self-reliance.
“I don’t have a mother or father. I’m an only son. That’s quite tough,” he shared. “I don’t have an uncle, aunty, godfather, or godmother that I depend on. It has been nothing but God in my life.”
The rapper also shed light on his financial struggles during his formative years, including his inability to afford university education.
Furthermore, he recalled how a lack of ₦20,000 prevented him from paying his tuition and ultimately led to the loss of his admission.
“I had about two weeks to pay that money, but I couldn’t raise it on time,” he explained.

To make ends meet, Ice Prince took up various menial jobs while pursuing his education.
He admitted to missing school for weeks each term due to unpaid fees, a stark reminder of the economic challenges he faced.
