Social media critic Martins Ortse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has strongly denied allegations that he threatened the life of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.
This is an issue over the revocation of a plot of land belonging to the family of the late Colonel Paul Osakpamwan Ogbebor.
The controversy arose after a video gained significant traction on social media.
The video alleges that Minister Wike had revoked a property allocated to the Ogbebor family since 1981.
However, this action reportedly caused an outcry among supporters of the family.
Amid the uproar, a WhatsApp broadcast surfaced, claiming that VeryDarkMan had issued threats against the Minister.
In response, Martins Ortse unequivocally refuted the accusations.
He describes them as unfounded and an attempt to tarnish his character.
Addressing the allegations, VeryDarkMan reaffirmed his dedication to advocacy and constructive dialogue.
Also, he stated: “I have never, and will never, resort to threatening anyone’s life, let alone a public official. My position has always been about pursuing justice and accountability through lawful and ethical means”.
The land revocation has reignited discussions around property rights and governance within the Federal Capital Territory.
The Ogbebor family has reportedly expressed their grievances, calling the revocation unjust and appealing for intervention from the appropriate authorities.
VeryDarkMan’s denial sheds light on the growing prevalence of misinformation and fake news across social media.
