The 82nd annual Golden Globe nominations were unveiled live at the Beverly Hilton, with Emilia Pérez leading the pack with a record-breaking 10 nods.
This surpasses the previous high for a comedy or musical motion picture set by Barbie last year. Following closely are The Brutalist with seven nominations, Conclave with six, and Anora and The Substance with five each.
On TV, The Bear leads with five nominations, followed by Only Murders in the Building and Shogun with four each.
Netflix leads distributors with 26 nominations, while A24 earned 12 for film and HBO/Max 14 for TV.
The new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category includes Gladiator 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine.
Other films in the category include Alien: Romulus and Inside Out 2.
Notable individual nominations include Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez for their supporting roles in Emilia Pérez. Meanwhile, Moana 2 from Walt Disney Studios earned a nod for Best Motion Picture – Animated.
The event, set to air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, 5 January 2025, will be hosted by Nikki Glaser. Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner return as showrunners.
The Golden Globes will honour Viola Davis with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her outstanding contributions to film and Ted Danson with the Carol Burnett Award for TV excellence.
