In Benue State, specifically in Logo Local Government Area, the homeland of the former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, residents witnessed a scary incident, one which is too heavy for the mouth to say.
It was a usual Wednesday in the community and residents were busy going about their daily hustle when around 6:32 p.m. the worst happened.
Armed bandits in their numbers invaded the community.
They began shooting indiscriminately, leading to the deaths of several locals.
The bandit killed more than 15 residents during the attack.
The community leader, Joseph Anawah, who confirmed the incident, said more than 20 heavily armed attackers conducted the three-hour operation.
They killed over 15 people and injured many others.
As we speak, some residents are still unaccounted for.
He said the victims included retired primary school supervisor, Orihundu Ati and Zaki Mbatern, the son of the Kindred Head of Mbawuave.
The Terror
Anawah also stated that other casualties include the son of Tordoo Suswam, a former Chief of Staff, and the son of Uyange Chembe, whose brother was the late District Head of Ukemberagya.
According to Anawah, a former aide to Suswam, the attack marks the second incident in October.

He urged the state government to collaborate with the Federal Government to enhance security in the region.
He said: “Terrorists yesterday, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, unleashed terror on Anyiin town, Logo LGA of Benue State, in an operation that started around 6:32 pm, leaving over 15 people dead, some with injuries, and others missing.”
Also confirming the attack, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security and External Affairs, , Alex Igbaya, said the security personnel, including military units, have been deployed to the area.
Meanwhile at the time of filing this report, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Catherine Anene, has yet to issue any statement on the incident.
